Five affordable targets for Arsenal this summer

In the modern football transfer market, it seems as though everyone and their mother is being rumoured to move for massive, incomprehensible transfer fees.

Arsenal have not been known to consistently splash the cash, especially with Arsene Wenger in charge, but there are plenty of improvements that need to be made if the team wants to contend for trophies.

Wenger spent rather big money last summer, signing Granit Xhaka and Shkodran Mustafi for £30m and £41m respectively, and the Frenchman also added Lucas Perez for around £20m. That’s a pretty big haul for Wenger in one summer, but the three haven’t been enough. Mustafi has been inconsistent, Xhaka hasn’t been used correctly, and Perez hasn’t gotten a chance in Premier League games.

To go along with this vein of signings who won’t take up the entire transfer budget, there are some names out there who can be had for a sane price.
