Arsenal are ready to promise teen sensation Kylian Mbappe a central striker role to try and lure him away from the clutches of Real Madrid.
The Daily Mail report that Arsenal are preparing a huge £85 million offer for the young French international with the promises of regular first-team football.
The report suggests that insiders close to the club believe Arsenal will meet the asking price, which is £45 million more than they paid for current club-record signing Mesut Ozil.
Mbappe has taken Europe by storm this season with free-scoring Ligue 1 side AS Monaco, who have made the Champions League semi-final for the first time since 2003.
The Frenchman has attracted the interest of a host of major European outfits, with Real Madrid appearing to be leading the race to sign him.
The insecurity surrounding Wenger’s future may dent the club’s hopes of landing Mbappe, who is likely to be one of the most in-demand players this summer.
