Arsenal came out on top in what was an enthralling encounter at Wembley Stadium today, beating Manchester City 2-1 in the FA Cup semi-final after extra time.
It was a big match for both sides and it was a full-blooded clash throughout, with both teams having good chances to progress into the final, where Chelsea had secured their place after beating Tottenham Hotspur 4-2 last night.
The first-half was controversial, with both Sergio Aguero and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain having strong respective cases for penalties turned down, along with City being wrongly denied a goal.
However, it was City that struck first blood with Sergio Aguero lofting the ball over Petr Cech.
The Sky Blues weren’t in charge for long though, with Nacho Monreal brilliantly firing home the equaliser to send the tie into extra-time.
Both teams were clearly on their last legs but it was Arsenal that came out on top, with Alexis Sanchez smashing home from close range to send the Gunners into the final.
