Sead Kolasinac completes Arsenal medical
Bosnia and Herzegovina and Schalke left-back Sead Kolasinac has undergone a medical at Arsenal and has agreed on personal terms ahead of joining on a free transfer, according to Goal.
The 23-year-old will become Arsene Wenger’s first signing of the summer transfer window, with the manager marking the left-back position as an area that needed strengthening for next season.
The left-back, who has made a total of 89 appearances for the Bundesliga side, will arrive at the Emirates when his contract at Schalke expires at the end of June.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina international was reportedly in London two weeks ago for a sponsorship event and underwent medical tests during his short stay in the capital.
The left-back, who joined Schalke from Stuttgart in 2011, has made 20 Bundesliga appearances for the Royal Blues this season, scoring three goals.
Arsenal faced competition to sign the 23-year-old, with a number of European super clubs such as Chelsea, AC Milan, Manchester City, Juventus and Everton all expressing interest in the full-back.
