Arsenal boosted their chances of finishing inside the top four with a 2-1 win away at relegation contenders Middlesbrough on Monday night.
Sporting a new 3-4-3 system, Arsenal secured all three points thanks to goals from their two star men, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
The Chilean opened the scoring with a brilliantly-taken free-kick in the first half before Ozil put the Gunners back in front with a well-taken goal in the second half.
We’ve rated each player’s performance from the 2-1 win.
Petr Cech - 6
Was well beaten by Alvaro Negredo and didn’t have much to do either side of the goal.
Gabriel - 5
Lacked any real quality at the back and questions remain over his long-term future at the Emirates.
Laurent Koscielny - 6
Let Negredo find space between the Arsenal defenders and equalise. Would’ve hoped to deal with the Spaniard better.
Rob Holding - 6
Showed signs of his potential and was argubably Arsenal’s best defender on the night.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain - 7
Struggled initially out wide, but put in a real shift as he worked himself up and down the right wing. Exactly what you want in that position.
Aaron Ramsey - 6
Another who didn’t have a busy game but showed great composure to put the ball on a plate for Ozil to smash it home.
Granit Xhaka - 5
Was disappointing in the middle of the park. Arsenal fans will be hoping that the Swiss international is still taking time to adapt to the Premier League.
Nacho Monreal - 4
The Spaniard really struggled in the 3-4-3 formation.
Arsene Wenger admitted that it may not be the long-term solution for the club, but if it is, Monreal isn’t the man to slot into the left wing-back role.
Mesut Ozil - 7
Despite not having the greatest game, he added that extra bit of quality in the box when Arsenal needed him. Took his goal extremely well.
Alexis Sanchez - 8
Was as impressive as ever with a brilliant free-kick to give Arsenal the lead.
Importantly, appeared to be playing with a smile on his face and the Gunners thrived off him.
Olivier Giroud - 6
Showed glimpses of quality but was largely over shadowed by Sanchez and Ozil behind him.
