# City to rival Arsenal in Lacazette pursuit

Arsenal have been crying out for a world class striker for some time now, and one man that has been perennially linked with a move to the Emirates is Alexandre Lacazette.

The French attacker has been plying his trade with Lyon out in his homeland and has been impressing for some time now, leading to speculation surrounding his long-term future in Ligue 1.

Arsenal have always been claimed to have shown interest in making their move for the 25-year-old, but they could now face further competition with a summer move in mind.

According to a report from the [Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/alexandre-lacazette-manchester-city-arsenal-10184538) in recent times, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side are now interested in signing Lacazette as they look to revamp their attacking reinforcements ahead of the coming campaign.

Lacazette has just two years remaining on his deal at Lyon and the club are set to offload him this summer, with the striker not willing to extend his stay.
