# Arsenal considering a move for Schmeichel

Arsenal are reportedly considering a move for Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.

According to a report from the [Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/arsenal-targeting-move-leicester-keeper-10098637), the Gunners are keen to resolve their goalkeeping issues of late by moving in for the Dane this summer after his consistently impressive performance between the sticks for the Foxes.

Petr Cech has come under some criticism this season for some slightly worrying displays, whilst David Ospina has been the established number two at the club for some time now.

Schmeichel has been in superb form for Craig Shakespeare’s men and has been a huge part of Leicester’s rejuvenated form in recent times.

Leicester will be keen to keep hold of their key man this summer as they look ahead to the 2017/18 campaign, but the 30-year-old could very well be tempted by a move to the Emirates if Arsenal’s interest is concrete.

Cech will now look to step it up if he is to keep his place in the Arsenal starting line-up, with speculation surrounding the goalkeeping position at the club.
