Leon Goretzka is one of the most promising young talents in German football today and there appears to be a summer bidding war in the offing for his services.
Italian source Calciomercato claim that Premier League side Tottenham are leading the race to sign the Schalke midfielder in the summer, but both Arsenal and Juventus are monitoring his situation.
The 22-year-old came through the ranks with 2. Bundesliga side Bochum before making a €3m move to Schalke in the summer of 2013 where he’s progressed to become a leading player for the team.
Capped three times by Germany, Goretzka’s contract expires at the end of next season and it’s understood that his representatives have held several rounds of talks with Juventus over a move.
Able to play in central midfield or a more advanced role, the midfielder has netted six goals in 31 appearances across all competitions so far this season.
Goretzka has a bright future in the game but will likely need to make a big decision regarding his future at the end of the season.
