# Barcelona to have scouts watch Hector Bellerin

Barcelona remain eager to bring Hector Bellerin back to the club six years after selling him as a 16-year-old to Arsenal and will have scouts watch him in action this week as the Gunners take on Bayern Munich in their Champions League last 16 second-leg tie, according to [Mundo Deportivo](https://le10sport.com/football/mercato/mercato-barcelone-le-barca-insisterait-pour-hector-bellerin-298022).

Bellerin has established himself as one of Europe’s best young fullbacks since breaking into the Arsenal team mid-way through the 2014/15 season courtesy of a freak shoulder injury suffered by Mathieu Debuchy against Stoke.

Set to make his 100th Arsenal appearance against Bayern in midweek, the 21-year-old recently put pen-to-paper on a new six-and-a-half-year deal which runs until 2023, illustrating his commitment to the cause at the Emirates.

Like many Arsenal players, though, [Bellerin will reassess his future](https://readarsenal.com/2017/02/24/hector-bellerin-open-barcelona-move-wenger-leaves/) at the club if Arsene Wenger leaves at the end of the season and may be open to a sensational return to the Nou Camp.

Barcelona have seemingly scrapped plans to sign Valencia fullback Joao Cancelo making Bellerin once again their top right-back target as they seek out a successful replacement for Dani Alves.
