# Arsenal eyeing shock move for Sergio Aguero

For the first time in many seasons, Arsenal aren’t crying out for a ‘world class’ striker to come and save their season, yet, they’re still suffering from the same annual shortcomings.

The need for a striker could change in the summer if Alexis Sanchez, oft-deployed at the striker in Arsenal’s formation this season, decides he’s had enough and refuses to sign a new contract and demands a transfer – which remains a very real possibility.

In this scenario, contingency plans need to be made and Italian newspaper [Corriere dello Sport](https://www.corrieredellosport.it/news/calcio/calcio-mercato/2017/02/07-21194799/calciomercato_c_anche_linter_tra_le_tentazioni_di_agero/) claim Arsenal are readying a move for unsettled Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero.

Recently, Aguero has found himself on the bench as £27m January signing Gabriel Jesus has made headlines for City, scoring three goals in his first two Premier League starts.

While Aguero has come out and reaffirmed his commitment to Manchester City, the possibility of Pep Guardiola deciding the club should cash-in and move on from the Argentine is real.

Real Madrid, Chelsea and Inter Milan have all emerged as possible destinations for Aguero who will not be allowed to leave the club for less than £77m it’s believed.
