# Alexandre Lacazette hints at summer transfer

Arsenal once again find themselves adrift in the Premier League title race but for once the major talking point won’t be about the lack of a quality striker due to the form of Alexis Sanchez this season.

Given his uncertain future and contract situation, Arsenal should be readying contingency plans for is Sanchez leaves the clubs and one of their former targets may have just made themselves available.

Speaking to Canal+ (h/t the [Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/arsenal-warned-trigger-alexandre-lacazettes-9766424)), Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette has stated that the time may have come for him to leave the Ligue 1 club.

“I think that this summer will be the time where I will need a change of scenery and discover something else, still with the idea of advancing and progressing in terms of football and as a person.

“I am going to continue to work, in the hope that good opportunities will come this summer. Barcelona to join \[Samuel\] Umtiti? It is a very big club. They have extraterrestrials up front. It would be a dream.”

After seeing West Ham have several rejected bids for his services along with considerable interest from the Gunners and Atletico Madrid, Lacazette signed a new contract until 2019 with a release clause worth £60m.

If Sanchez leaves, Lacazette is the calibre of player Arsene Wenger needs to be looking at to replace the Chilean.
