Arsenal midfielder, Mesut Ozil, insists he is ‘comfortable’ in London, amid suggestions he is stalling on a new contract extension.
Ozil has 18 months left on his current contract and the club are working hard to prepare an extension that ties him to the club for the foreseeable future.
The German international, who has just recently been named German Player of the Year for a fifth time, has said that he enjoys living in London and that he is not considering a move at this moment in time;
I’ve remained injury-free for the most part and I feel very comfortable in London now as well
It is believed that Ozil wanted reassurance of Arsene Wenger’s position before signing a new deal with the North London club.
The 28-year-old has missed the past few games due to illness, but returned to the side that beat Swansea 4-0 at the weekend.
Ozil has also spoke about his new training and eating regimes in the past year, saying that he now feels less fatigued between games and is in better overall shape;
I’ve changed a few things in my life this past year, for example my diet and my training. That helps me to regenerate fast after games and it reduces the chance of getting injured.
Arsenal will be keen to strike a deal between with Ozil and his agent, as he has proved in the past year how important he is to the side.
