There are maybe four or five world class players in the Premier League… and Arsenal are lucky enough to own two of them. While Alexis Sanchez has been on fire in the early stages of the new campaign, Mesut Ozil is the man who makes the Gunners tick. The Germany star has been central to their success since moving to the Emirates Stadium in 2013, playing a key role in Arsenal’s back-to- back FA Cup victories just a couple of years ago.
Ozil has featured 26 times for Arsenal this season, scoring 10 goals and recording a further six assists – an impressive stat line to say the least. He has been a pivotal figure in Arsenal’s starting line-up this campaign and Arsene Wenger knows just how important he is to their fluent style of play. In fact, it is difficult to envision this Gunners side without Ozil controlling the balance in attack.

Arsenal supporters have travelled in numbers so far this campaign – and the Gunners will need continued support throughout the duration of the season if Wenger’s men are to lift the title. Fortunately, ardent fans who prefer to travel to away fixtures may actually save money over 19 matches; and that may explain why so many supporters are willing to travel in a bid to watch the Gunners on the road.
Voucherbox recently conducted a survey to calculate just how much travelling to support the beloved Arsenal costs compared to home fixtures. Statistics suggest that fans may save £183.10 over the season if they choose to attend away games, and fans will be raring to go ahead of approaching away fixtures at Bournemouth and Swansea City. The Gunners have a solid away record this season and more success could follow in the coming months…

Every club needs a creative wizard and Ozil is Arsenal’s main man. Wenger has a plethora of talented midfielders at his disposal but the German star is key to Arsenal’s chances of glory in 2017. If Ozil can stay fit and maintain his current form throughout the remainder of the campaign, the Gunners will believe that a first Premier League success since going unbeaten in 2004 could be on the cards…

Ozil’s form over the busy festive period will be important as Arsenal look to finish the calendar year at the summit of the table. As of December 12 th , the Gunners are just three points behind current leaders Chelsea, but Wenger will be upbeat as they look to close the gap to Antonio Conte’s men. Ozil has now bagged a goal in each of the last two league games and he has the talent to extend that run.
Right now, Ozil is virtually unbeatable and Arsenal will be hoping that the Germany star can continue to shine during the next few weeks. If the Gunners are still in contention at the end of January, they could be set to secure silverware. After all, Arsenal are notoriously strong finishers in the run-in.
