For the first time since the opening day of the season, Arsenal lost a game in the Premier League as they were defeated 2-1 at Goodison Park.
Arsenal took the lead thanks to another goal from Alexis Sanchez, although there was more than a hint of fortune about it. The Chilean smashed a free-kick at goal but it took a massive deflection off Ashley Williams and into the net.
That seemed to lift Everton and they started hurrying the Gunners and tried to attack with more vigour. It paid off just before halftime when Leighton Baines crossed into the box and, rather surprisingly, Seamus Coleman was in the middle of the goal to head home.
The home side looked full of confidence at got the winner late on. Williams, who admitted post-match that he was disappointed about his involvement in the opening goal, made up for that error by heading home from a corner, although question marks will be asked about why he was unmarked.
