PSG have edged ahead of Arsenal in the race to sign highly-rated Wolfsburg left-back Ricardo Rodriguez, according to RMC Sport.
The Gunners have been keeping tabs on the Swiss defender for a number of years now without making a concrete move for the fullback, but PSG have stolen a march on them.
RMC state that PSG are going to meet Rodriguez’s €25m release clause in a bid to persuade the 24-year-old to swap the Bundesliga for Ligue 1.
Arsenal have both Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs as serviceable options at left-back but there’s no denying Rodriguez would be a marked improvement on both players.
AC Milan are also in the running for Rodriguez but given the uncertainty surrounding their Chinese takeover it’s unlikely they’ll sanction a move.
Arsene Wenger is also interested in another Wolfsburg star, with Julian Draxler again on his radar.
The German international midfielder has been long linked with a move to the Emirates and after a recent rift between him and the club, he could be on the way out.
