Arsenal and Man City battle for Boubacar Kamara

Both Manchester City and Arsenal are showing an interest in young Marseille defender Boubacar Kamara, according to L’Equipe (h/t Inside Futbol).

Arsene Wenger has always been one with an eye on the next generation of talents coming through in the game and Kamara is the latest to have piqued his interest.

The 17-year-old defender, who has represented France at U18 level, is highly-rated in the Marseille academy and he’s yet to agree upon a first professional contract with the Ligue 1 club which has alerted both the Gunners and Manchester City are preparing contract offers for the teenager.

Yet to make an appearance in Marseille’s first-team, perhaps Kamara thinks a move to English football would benefit him where the loan systems in place could allow him to play regular football in the Football League before making the step up to the Premier League.

Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund are also showing an interest in Kamara and will offer a lucrative financial package to bring him to Germany.

Kamar’s representatives are aware of the financial rewards on offer of moving to England or Germany and are using it as leverage to get better terms on a pro-deal from Marseille. If a deal can’t be struck, he could become available on the cheap.
