Arsenal’s annual November slump looked like it could continue when Bournemouth drew level at the Emirates, but goals from Theo Walcott and a second from Alexis Sanchez gave them an important three points.
Arsenal had taken the lead early on when Sanchez capitalised on Steve Cook’s terrible backpass to slot past Adam Federici but were pegged back 11 minutes later when Callum Wilson scored from the spot after the referee thought Nacho Monrea had fouled him in the box.
Arsenal were much the better team and deserved to go ahead from Walcott’s header but the visitors kept battling and did have chances to equalise.
Sanchez sealed the win in injury time to keep Arsenal just three points behind the league leading Chelsea.
