Despite already knowing that they’ll be playing in the knockout stages of the Champions League, Arsenal are expected to play a strong side against PSG as they look to finish top of Group A.
Whilst there is no guarantee that finishing top will get Arsenal an easy draw in the next round, with teams like Bayern Munich and Real Madrid possibly in the runner’s up pot, it would secure them the advantage of playing a second leg at home and it could also get them an easier opponent.
A win over PSG would seal first place in the group and allow Arsenal to rest players in the game with Basel, something which Arsene Wenger would be keen to do over the busy Christmas period.
