Arsenal and Liverpool are two of the clubs that are tracking highly-rated Port Vale defender Nathan Smith, the Daily Star have revealed.
It’s believed that both Stoke and Norwich are interested in signing the young defender as well after he’s earned rave reviews for Port Vale this season.
The 20-year-old centre-back spent last season on loan at Torquay United where he played regular football which certainly aided his development and allowed him to make the transition to League One football.

This term, Smith has again been impressing scouts tracking his progress, scoring twice in 18 appearances so far.
The Reds and the Gunners both had scouts present during the game between Vale and Charlton last week with eyes on both Smith and impressive Addicks forward Ademola Lookman.
Smith is valued at £1.5m and recently signed a new contract with the club until 2020 but if he continues on his current trajectory then a larger side will come in for the youngster.
Arsenal made the move to sign Rob Holding from Bolton for a similar fee in the summer and have always been active in the U21 market, so perhaps this is another long-term investment which could be made.
