Ramsey reiterates fitness ahead of Spurs clash

After making his return from injury against Sunderland last weekend, Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has insisted that he will be fit and available for selection when his side take on Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon, the Evening Standard can report.

I’m ready to face Tottenham, I wouldn’t have been out there starting last night if I wasn’t ready. It was great for me.

Ramsey came on as a substitute in Arsenal’s rampant 4-1 win over The Black Cats last weekend and also started in the Champions League win over Ludogorets on Tuesday night.

The Welshman started the game for the first time in 11 weeks but will now look to keep his place under Arsene Wenger for the North London derby at the weekend.

However, there is a possibility that if Ramsey does feature against Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs side, he will be deployed in a slightly abnormal position to his usual central midfield role.

I’ve been out injured for a couple of months now and it was nice to be back starting again and getting 70-odd minutes. That will put me in good shape going into the weekend and hopefully I can stay fit.

Wenger utilised Ramsey as a right-sided midfielder against the Bulgarian side in Tuesday night’s win, so he could be set to start out wide again against Arsenal’s rivals on Sunday.
