Due to an awkward conflict of kit colours, Arsenal must wear their away strip at home against Basel in the Champions League. Since the white away shirt that Basel has is unacceptable to wear against Arsenal, whose home kit has white sleeves. Additionally, the red, blue, and black home shirt of Basel clashes with Arsenal’s red home shirt.
So, Arsenal have decided to be the bigger people and wear their away shirt at home in order to let the match go on without visual confusion. It is unfortunate that UEFA said that Basel’s white away shirt will not work well against Arsenal’s red and white home shirt because there is hardly any white on Arsenal’s home top.

It will be an awkward sight at first as the Gunners rarely wear any kit other than the classic red, especially since the match is at the Emirates Stadium. Given the fact that the colour difference between the teams’ kits will be greater, then it will be a better viewing experience for the supporters who are at the match or watching on television.
It will take more thinking while watching the match as fans will have to remember that Arsenal is wearing yellow at home. But once the supporters get used to the fact that the club is wearing the away kit at home, it will be just like any other match. It was a big move by the club to make the decision to not wear their home kit at home, but it will benefit the viewing of the match and cause for fewer mistakes from players than there would be if the kits clashed.
