On Tuesday, Arsenal will face off against Nottingham Forest in their first exploit of the season in the Capital One Cup. For the Gunners, it is a tournament that has seen the club play a bunch of youngsters and get knocked out early, but with the pleasantly unfamiliar squad depth the club now has, it could be a good opportunity for a deep run in the competition.
There are quite a few young players coming up out of the academy this season, so Arsene Wenger will almost certainly take this opportunity to see how some of them can fit in with the first team. Additionally, it is a good chance to see how some new signings and fringe players will play. Most main men like Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Özil will not feature, but it will still be exciting to see younger, less known players get some game time.
It is not the most important match or competition, but there is a good chance that there could be a breakout game from a young player who has plied his trade in the academy. Just like Alex Iwobi last season, supporters could see the coming out party for a young man with high potential. So, with that in mind, let’s take a look at the predicted XI for Arsenal against Nottingham Forest.
