Southampton is the next opponent Arsenal face this season. The Saints have gotten a pretty rough start to their 2016/17 campaign with two draws and a loss against Manchester United. The club from South-England also didn’t have the best of summer transfer windows in their history, losing some key players and also losing their manager Ronald Koeman to Everton.
As mentioned, Southampton didn’t have the best possible start to their campaign, but the same goes for Arsenal. A win, a draw and a loss just isn’t good enough to compete for the title. This means that Saturday’s game is really important for both sides. A win for Southampton means that they can look at the teams above them, and a win for Arsenal may mean that they can get close to one of the Manchester clubs, who also play each other this weekend.
