Zlatan Ibrahimovic has previously had offers to join Arsenal and Manchester City, the Manchester Evening News has revealed.
It is thought that the chances to move to the Premier League came earlier in his career when he had no intentions of moving to England.
After his four-year stint with Paris Saint-Germain came to an end and he became a free agent, the Swedish striker joined Manchester United for at least one season.
Ibrahimovic said that he was close to a move, but that it never materialised:
I was close two times to moving to the Premier League – once with Arsenal and then Manchester City, but it never happened and I don’t need to play in the Premier League.

The 34-year-old has spent time in the Eredivisie, Serie A, La Liga and Ligue 1. Since joining Man Utd he has scored four games in his first four games.
Arsenal have also signed themselves a new striker this summer, bringing in Lucas Perez from Deportivo near the end of the summer transfer window. Shkodran Mustafi and Granit Xhaka have also joined the Gunners this summer.
