Following a successful loan spell at Rangers, which saw Gedion Zelalem achieve promotion to the top flight of Scottish football as well as an Old Firm Derby cup final win against Celtic, it is believed that the Arsenal youngster will be given another loan opportunity.
ESPN have reported that the young midfielder is a target for League One side Bolton Wanderers.
Zelalem made his debut for Arsenal in January 2014 and is highly regarded at the club. Having represented Germany up to U17 level and before switching at U23 international to play for the USA, Zelalem has proved to be a real prospect.
He made 28 appearances in all competitions last season for Rangers and at 19 years of age, there is plenty of time for him to develop.
With midfield competition arguably stronger than ever at the Emirates, a loan move would be the best option for a young man of such high potential.
The physicality of the lower leagues will only affect his game in a positive way and Arsenal can hopefully reap the rewards in years to come.
The question that remains for Zelalem is as to whether Bolton is too much of a step down for his ability, it is clear that he will be looking to assess all options.
