Arsenal signed Costa Rican international, Joel Campbell, five years ago. Since then it can be said that his career has never really taken off. Campbell has spent time on loan at Olympiacos, Real Betis, Lorient and Villareal before becoming an important member in the first team squad last season.

At times last year, the winger still couldn’t feature for Wenger, even though he put in some superb performances. According to Portugese publication O Jogo (h/t The Express) Campbell will join Portuguese giants, Sporting Lisbon on loan next season.
The Costa Rican international had been linked with a permanent move away from the club this summer, but he instead vowed to stay and fight for his place in the team.
The reports conclude that the winger will undergo a medical soon. This news will come as a surprise to Arsenal fans who had hoped to Campbell could have been a valuable member of the squad this year.
