After an incredibly disappointing opening game against Liverpool, Arsenal had to face last season’s champions Leicester City. With Koscielny, Giroud and Özil coming back into the squad, Arsenal fans had their hopes high.
In the first half, nothing really happened, both sides were a bit nervous it seems, with neither side creating any big chances.
The second half was a better spectacle than the first half. Leicester were the better team early into the second half but after some tactical subs by Arsenal, the whole dynamic of the game changed. Wenger brought on Özil, Wilshere and Giroud, and all of a sudden, Arsenal looked a team transformed. It seemed the inclusion of an actual striker, and the sides star playmaker made a huge difference to the quality of Arsenal attack.
But all that being said, the game ended in 0-0, which overall seems like a fair result. Let’s take a look at the five things we learned in this game:
