After a terrible 4-3 loss to Liverpool at the weekend, Arsenal’s problems only got worse as it was confirmed that Aaron Ramsey had picked up a hamstring injury.
Today however, the Mirror confirmed that Alex Iwobi will now miss up to a month. The youngster picked up a hip injury against Liverpool and will now join Ramsey, Per Mertesacker, Danny Welbeck and Gabriel on the sidelines.
Iwobi broke into Arsenal’s first-team last season and was expected to play an even bigger role in the squad this season. He will now miss Arsenal’s next games against Leicester City and Watford, while he might be fit to face Southampton on September 10th.
Ramsey is also scheduled to be back for the game against Southampton, but having had any games in the pre-season, that could be quite optimistic.
Only a week into the season, and Arsenal already have five major injuries. Arsene Wenger is now under even more pressure to add the squad.
