The season is fast upon us and it looks like it could be one of the best. Leicester City shocked the world by winning the title, which could arguably go down as the greatest surprise story in sports. So who’s going to follow them?
Following the Premier League’s new TV deal, the spending from the clubs has continued at quite a pace. Manchester United have splashed out a world record fee for Paul Pogba (£89 million), while also bringing in Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Erica Bailly and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Manchester City likewise have strengthened substantially with the like of Gundogan, Nolito, Sane and John Stones. Both teams, therefore, are now considered favourites for the title.
In terms of Arsenal’s case, it seems unless there’s a quick splurge in the transfer market – which is quite possible – that it could be a long and arduous season for the club.
