Arsenal have long been in negotiations for Lyon striker, Alexandre Lacazette. It was widely reported that Arsenal had bid £30 million for the French striker, which was quickly rejected by Lyon as it was well below the asking price. It was also reported that amid Arsenal’s interest, Lyon would offer Lacazette a lucrative new deal to stay with the club.

Jason Burt, of the Daily Telegraph, however has revealed that Lyon will now increase the asking price for Lacazette to £59,9 million.
Lyon president, Jean-Michel Aulas has made it clear that they want to keep their star striker and will only let him leave for a huge fee. The player himself wants the move to Arsenal but could well end up staying put due to the inflated transfer fee.

West Ham have also shown interest, but the player wants Champions League football, leaving Arsenal in the driver’s seat.
If Arsenal want the player, they will now need to put in a huge bid. Arsenal need a striker but such a large fee, could now put off Arsene Wenger.
