Arsenal may have to cough up a massive €110 million if they want to sign Julian Draxler from VfL Wolfsburg next summer, according to Bild.
With rumours circulating around the German star about interest from Arsenal and other sides, Wolfsburg want to make sure that they don’t lose another star, therefore Draxler’s release clause is set to be €110 million as of 2017.
For comparison, Paul Pogba recently signed for rivals Manchester United for a world record fee of €105 million excluding bonuses, around £89 million. The highest transfer fee Arsenal has paid for a player was £38.2 million for Mesut Ozil three years ago and like most clubs, will not likely pay Draxler’s new release clause.

The 22-year-old German international only joined Wolfsburg last year, making the move from fellow Bundesliga side Schalke 04. Last season he made 23 league appearances and scored six goals, while he was called up to the Germany squad for Euro 2016.
The Gunners have only made one key signing so far this season, bringing in Borussia Monchengladbach captain Granit Xhaka for approximately £34 million. Draxler had informed Wolfsburg of intention to leave but now it seems highly unlikely that he will go this year or the next.
