Arsenal have long been linked with Nigerian youth international, Kelechi Nwakali. Reports emerged in January that the young Nigerian had agreed a move to the club after having a successful trial.
Earlier this week, multiple sources confirmed that Nwakali was in London to finalize the deal. As of today however, Arsenal have officially unveiled the new signing, as reported by Arsenal.com.

The 18-year-old joins Arsenal from the Diamond Academy in Nigeria, for a reported fee of £2.5 million. He will join as a young professional and looks set to be loaned out next season in order to gain experience.

Although Arsenal’s summer transfer activity has been reasonably quiet as of late, this is an excellent signing, who will join a talented crop of youngster at the club. Nwakali won the under-17 World Cup last year and was voted the best player, causing him to attract interest from many clubs.
That said, a big signing is still needed at the club, something that fans will be hoping materializes in the coming weeks.
