According to a report from Bild, German international Julian Draxler has told his current club Wolfsburg that he wants to leave the club this summer in order to push through a move to what he describes as a “top international club”, amidst some firm interest from Arsenal.
For me it is so that I have expressed myself clearly after the Euros, with Dieter Hecking, that I want to leave Wolfsburg. The coach knows for more than three weeks.
The creative midfielder, who can play in an attacking midfield role as well as on the left-hand side, has criticised the Bundesliga club upon his return from an impressive Euro 2016 campaign with Germany for Draxler, personally.
Two days after the semi-final at the European Championships I told him how I see the whole situation and what I want – which is to leave the club.
It was just last summer when Draxler joined Wolfsburg in a move from fellow German side Schalke, but it now looks as though the talented playmaker is seeking pastures new and potentially a move away from the Bundesliga, putting Arsenal on red alert.

It’s been well reported for a while now that Arsenal have shown concrete interest in the possibility of bringing Draxler over to the Premier League, meaning that The Emirates could be a potential destination for the German international this summer.
I was verbally assured with my transfer in August 2015 that I can leave the club when given opportunities. Both from Hecking, as well as Allofs. It was always clear between all parties that I would like to go to a top international club if the opportunity arises. It was discussed that we speak rationally with one another, if other clubs show interest.
Arsene Wenger could do a lot worse than make Draxler his next summer signing, with the German star having plenty to offer through his creative, technical ability.
