Arsenal currently lead the race to sign Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup, according to Spanish publication Deporte Valenciano.
The Gunners are not the only team interested in the Turkish midfielder with Manchester United and Valencia also keen.
Valencia have already lost Andre Gomes to Barcelona this summer and the Spanish club see Ozyakup as a like-for-like replacement.
Manchester United are reportedly set to sign Paul Pogba from Juventus, thus it is unlikely with their plethora of midfield options that Ozyakup would be a likely signing for Jose Mourinho, but he might be a ‘Plan B’ option for them.
Turkish champions Besiktas are currently demanding a fee in the region of £17 million (€20 million).
The 23-year-old has only two years on his contract remaining and Besiktas may look to cash in before his contract ends in 2018.
Ozyakup is no stranger to English football or Arsenal, spending one year at the Emirates Stadium between 2011 and 2012.

He did not make an appearance for The Gunners during this time and was sold to Besiktas for just €500,000.
The Turkish international helped Besiktas win their first top-flight title since 2009 last season, scoring nine times and providing seven assists.
Ozyakup is an attacking midfielder whose greatest strengths are providing a killer final pass and dribbling past defenders.
Arsenal are eager to strengthen their squad ahead of the new Premier League season with Granit Xhaka their only senior signing of the summer transfer window so far.
