Over the last season or two, Arsenal have made a concerted effort to sign talented youth players. Aside from last season, Arsenal’s youth production and performance has somewhat stalled. Last season, however Arsenal upped their youth recruitment policy and it has paid dividends.
According to Bild (h/t the Express), Arsenal have now set their sights on the 19-year-old winger German winger, Philipp Ochs. The Hoffenheim youngster has impressed at the recent European under-19 Championships, and Arsenal scouts were in attendance to watch him.

Ochs broke into the Hoffenheaim first-team last season and made 13 appearances in the Bundesliga. Ochs is seen as one of the brightest talents in the Bundesliga and Hoffenheim will not let him go on the cheap.
Ochs is still under contract until 2019 and thus will likely require a reasonable fee to draw him from the German club. With Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott struggling to live up to potential, Ochs could well be one not only for the future, but also for the present.
