Gonzalo Higuain has been linked to Arsenal for a while now and the new rumour is that Arsenal will bid €50 million euro offer plus Olivier Giroud, while his wages have been agreed.
Arsenal have been crying out for a natural goal scorer for many seasons now. Giroud has done ok in past seasons but has never truly convinced Arsenal fans and the manager that he is the man who will push Arsenal to more trophies.
Higuain is a proven goal scorer. He scored 62 goals in 96 appearances for Real Madrid between 2007 and 2013, before moving to Napoli and scoring 89 goals in 121 appearances for the Italian side. The season just gone, Higuain scored 36 league goals in 35 appearances in Serie A, which is a stat that alone proves his quality in front of goal.

Higuain is not just a goal scorer, he is extremely strong and can hold the ball up very well. He spent most of time at Napoli playing as a lone striker, which is how Arsenal have played for a number of seasons now; a loan striker with a number 10 playing off him and wide players getting down the wings to keep the width. Higuain would play the same position at Arsenal, with Mesut Ozil and Sanchez playing behind him and the wing backs going forward in attack.
On paper, this would be the perfect signing for Arsenal. Giroud is good in the air and in the box but he lacks any sort of pace in behind defenders and in open space. Higuain is quicker, and prefers to play on the last defender, which would suit Arsenal’s play. The likes of Cazorla and Ozil would be able to play passes behind defenders for Gonzalo to run onto and make chances.

One issue that could be speculated is that the pace of the Spanish and the Italian League’s are much slower than the Premier League, which may mean Higuain does not get as much space and time on the ball as he has done at previous clubs. There is no doubt, however that if provided with chances, Higuian will find the net for Arsenal.
If Arsenal can secure Higuain’s signature then Arsenal fans can definitely expect to see Arsenal competing more in both Europe and the Premier League. A goal-scoring machine who, on his day, is unplayable, would be an excellent transfer.
