Arsenal have submitted a bid to sign Barcelona’s Turkey national Arda Turan, according to Spanish outlet Don Balon.
Turan signed for Barcelona last summer for a fee of £34million and it all went downwards from there. Barcelona’s FIFA-imposed transfer ban meant that the 29-year-old was unable to feature for his new club until January.
Since being cleared to play, Turan was unable to replicate the form that made him wanted in the first place and has failed to pin himself a position in the starting XI, starting just nine times in La Liga last season.

The Express are reporting that Barcelona boss Luis Enrique is ready to sell the former Atletico Madrid man with Arsene Wenger keen on reinforcing and adding more depth to his squad ahead of next season’s Premier League title bid.
But the Gunners are not the only team interested in acquiring the services of the Turkey international. Both Borussia Dortmund and Galatasaray are apparently monitoring the player closely and have made bids for Turan.
Don Balon claim that the Turkish team’s bid of £17.1m is the highest submitted so far, so if Arsenal are serious about bringing Turan to North London, they will need to beat that offer.
