In what was a surprise rumour, Arsenal were linked with Japanese international striker, Takuma Asano this week.
In an interview, the player was quoted as having been contacted by Arsenal over a potential move, which was then followed up with most newspapers claiming a deal would be done in a few days. As of this morning, however, Arsenal.com has confirmed that Arsenal have a agreed a fee for the Sanfrecce Hiroshima forward, although the subject of the transfer is still subject to a medical and regulatory processes.

At 21-years-old, Asano is seen as a player for the future, something Arsene Wenger reiterated when speaking to the club’s official site.
Takuma is a talented young striker and very much one for the future. He has had an impressive start to his career in Japan and we look forward to him developing over the next couple of years

Asano is seen as a very bright prospect in Japan, having made his debut for the national team last year, and will also be apart of their Olympic squad this summer. Asano had attracted interest from other clubs and is expected to be loaned out next season.
Although his future could be bright, Arsenal must sign an established forward this summer.
