EURO Watch: Opening weekend

The Euros kicked off at the weekend and football fans across the world watched in glee as nation battled nation in the hopes of securing a vital first win. There was much speculation surrounding hosts France, who are tipped as favourites to win the competition and kicked the competition off against Romania – Arsenal stars Laurent Koscielny and Olivier Giroud both featured.

Arsenal fans were also eagerly awaiting a first glimpse of new boy Granit Xhaka, who faced off against his brother and Albania. Other Arsenal stars were also showcasing their abilities for England, Wales, Germany and Poland.

With so many Gunners likely to make it a fair way in the competition, we shall be reporting back on their progress through the duration of the competition on a week-by-week basis. Hopefully we may even see an Arsenal player win the entire competition!

So how did the Arsenal players fare in the opening weekend of the competition?
