Leicester City striker and Premier League winner Jamie Vardy has reportedly told his England team-mates that he is ‘eighty per cent’ set on the decision that he will remain with the Foxes for the 2016/17 season.
This comes according to the London Evening Standard, who claim that Vardy is ponderous over the first-team opportunities he would have at the Emirates Stadium, should he join Arsenal, with Olivier Giroud, Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck to compete with.

Arsene Wenger had activated the Englishman’s release clause with Leicester City, worth £20 million – while also verbally agreeing a contract with the striker. Vardy – set for his first ever international tournament in day’s time – was thought to be struggling as to what his next move would be.
If he is to stay at Leicester, it would be a huge blow for Wenger and Arsenal, as it is rare that such a clinical English player be available for only £20 million, with it being well-known that elite British players find themselves having hugely inflated prices solely because of their nationality.
If the reports are true, Arsenal have missed out on a deal all thought had been done, while Vardy is likely to accept an increased deal from Leicester City.
