Much has been spoken about Theo Walcott’s career over the last few months. After a very disappointing for Arsenal, Arsene Wenger is in the midst of an incredibly important summer.
Arsenal have already acted quickly to sign Granit Xhaka, thus providing some much-needed passing ability and physicality in midfield. Furthermore, the North London club have now turned their attention to Leicester City striker, Jamie Vardy. Amid all the recent speculation over Arsenal’s signings, Theo Walcott’s future has seemingly been in jeopardy.
In the second-half of the season, Walcott lost his place to academy graduate, Alex Iwobi. As a result of Iwobi’s emergence, Walcott not only lost his place in the Arsenal squad but also his place in Roy Hodgson’s England squad.

At 27-years-old, speculation emerged that Walcott could leave Arsenal, with West Ham one of the teams interested. Recently, however, the Telegraph has reported the Arsene Weneger has convinced the winger to stay at the club. It is understood that Walcott will now stay at least one more year,, with three years left on his current deal.
With Welbeck out with a long-term injury and Oxlade-Chamberlain’s future in doubt, Walcott could well be essential in providing depth on the wing, but not through the middle.
