According to the Evening Standard, Arsenal are still confident about signing Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, and are willing to wait until Euro 2016 starts to get their target.
The 29-year-old is currently away with Roy Hodgson and his fellow England team-mates, but is also weighing up his options for where he’ll play his trade next season.
The Englishman has reportedly verbally agreed to a deal with the Gunners next season following the news that the North London side had triggered his release clause. The deal offered is a three-year contract, with an option of a fourth year. If agreed and confirmed, Vardy could be earning £120,000-a-week and has until Friday to make his decision.

Arsene Wenger knows that luring Vardy away from Leicester City, the club who gave him his rise to the top, will be difficult. After becoming a fan favourite, in a season where the former Fleetwood Town forward netted 24 times, Leicester will be keen to keep one of their prized assets.
The Standard also reports that Leicester have made a counter offer of £100,000-a-week to keep the striker to persuade the striker to stay and thus prevent a summer exodus from the club.
England manager Roy Hodgson is keen for Vardy to sort out his domestic issues before the tournament starts, so that every player can have their full attention on the tournament ahead and has also banned agents from England’s training base.
It’s been a topic for the past few seasons that Arsenal need an out-and-out striker as Oliver Giroud isn’t consistent enough. Is Vardy that striker that can push Arsenal forward?
