James Whaling of The Mirror is reporting that Arsene Wenger isn’t interested in taking Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City, as the battle to sign Mahrez’s team-mate Jamie Vardy continues.
The Algerian international Mahrez netted 17 goals and bagged himself 11 assists in a spectacular season for the Foxes – who as we know, ran out as Premier League champions.

However, even with his electric stats from last season, the Gunners aren’t interested in his services, and are instead putting in all their efforts to sign striker Vardy instead.
Twitter: Arsenal not interested in Mahrez. Wrote about Arsenal’s interest Mkhitaryan a few weeks ago. I still think it may only happen if others go. (@johncrossmirror)
The report, however from the Mirror goes on to add that Arsene Wenger is fearful that a deal for the striker wasn’t settled in time, as the former Fleetwood Town forward has jetted off to France for the Euro campaign with England.
The Gunners triggered Vardy’s £20m release clause but failed to seal any deal in time, as England boss Roy Hodgson will want his players fully concentrated on the tournament ahead.

While Arsenal have pulled out of signing Mahrez, it becoming increasingly worrying as to whether Vardy will indeed sign for the club. Only time will tell if Arsenal sign the Leicester City striker, but for now, it’s going to be an interesting week for Arsenal fans.
