French striker Olivier Giroud says he’s been told that Jamie Vardy will be heading to the Emirates Stadium next season, according to Sky Sports.
Arsenal have triggered Jamie Vardy’s release clause with a £20m fee and Sky Sports are reporting that the Gunners are now free to talk to the England international.
Giroud, who spoke to Sky Sports after scoring a brace in France’s 3-0 win against Scotland, has revealed that he is excited to play alongside Vardy next season and believes they can coexist together on the field.

I have been told that Jamie wants to join us and it’s very good news for us. I think we can be complimentary and that’s all I can say.
He’s a fantastic player, so it’s good news for us.
The French international believes Vardy will provide good competition for him and that will bring out the best out of both players.
As I said in the past I am happy with competition. We have always had fantastic strikers at Arsenal and I want the best for this club. Hopefully he is going to help us win this title.
The boss wanted to sign at least one or two strikers, so I expected a top striker and I think it will benefit the club and hopefully he is going to score a lot of goals like he did at Leicester.

Vardy is currently training with the rest of the England squad ahead of the Euros 2016 and it seems that he will need to be released temporarily by Roy Hodgson in order to complete his Arsenal move.
The former Fleetwood Town player would become Wenger’s second signing this Summer, following former Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka, who just joined the club’s ranks last month.
Jamie Vardy has had a exceptional 2015/2016 season, scoring 24 goals in all competitions as he helped Leicester win the Premier League title. He was also named the 2016 Barclays Premier League Player of the Season.
