The Evening Standard are reporting that Massimiliano Allegri is preparing for next season’s campaign without Spaniard Alvaro Morata in his plans.
Real Madrid are expected to activate their buyback option for a fee suggested to be in the €30million region, on a player that is proving to be a promising talent, as demonstrated by his selection for Vicente Del Bosque’s European Championship squad.
Notably, Morata has been picked ahead of both Diego Costa and Fernando Torres and is expected to lead the line for Spain as they seek to defend their European crown in a more convincing manner than their World Cup in Brazil.
With Danny Welbeck ruled out for nine months and Theo Walcott struggling to cement a place in the team, 23-year-old old would provide great competition and add an element of quality to an Arsenal front line that so badly misfired last term.
Morata boasts two Serie A titles and one La Liga title on his CV as well as a UEFA Champions League winners medal, so clearly the winning mentality is certainly there.
With a transfer fee in excess of over £40million, the question remains should Arsène Wenger gamble on a player that is yet to score more than 10 league goals in a single campaign?
