After picking up a fibula injury in August during pre-season training, Jack Wilshere once again missed significant time out.
After missing eight months, the talented midfielder made his long awaited return at the end of the season to make three under-21 appearances and one start for the first team – although he did feature in two other games.

Having only started one game, Wilshere still managed to earn a call up to Roy Hodgson’s European Championship squad. If Wilshere has a good tournament, the Daily Telegraph reports that Arsenal will offer him a contract extension on his current deal.
He currently has two years left on his current deal, which is worth £90,000-a-week. Due to interest from Manchester City, however, Arsenal are keen to keep a hold of one of their English core players, and arguably one of the most talented players to come out of Arsenal’s academy.
Wilshere has only started 66 League games over the past five seasons, but on his day, is one of the best in the League. His talent is undeniable, yet his injury problems have stalled his career.
A new contract for Wilshere would be wise, if Arsenal can keep him fit that is.
