If there’s one position Arsenal have been linked with to sign a new player, it’s striker. When you consider that Danny Welbeck will be out for another 9 months, and Olivier Giroud has struggled for form during the second half of the season, it’s little wonder that Arsenal are in the market for a striker.
Giroud played 53 games this season in which he scored 24 goals, 16 of those goals have been in the Premier League. These stats are not that bad, but they’re also not the stats of a world class striker. And with Giroud turning 30 in September of this year, Arsenal should consider replacing him with someone else.
Our other striker, Danny Welbeck, has spent more time in the medical department than on the pitch since his transfer from Manchester United 2 seasons ago. Welbeck really brought something into the team when he came back from his previous injury which also took him 10 months to recover from, but it may be too much of a risk to have him as the only back-up for Giroud.
Arsenal have been linked with a lot of strikers in the last couple of months, so we’re going to take a look at five that Arsenal should consider.
