Arsenal played Manchester City in a crucial game in the hunt for a top four spot. With Tottenham losing earlier in the day, there was even more pressured placed on both the two teams, as second is still possible.
In the first-half of the game, the pressure seemed to get the better of both of them. Arsenal looked incredibly nervous in the early stages, and Manchester City capitalized on this. After failing to clear the ball, Sergio Aguero turned and buried a left-footed shot into the goal, Petr Cech maybe should’ve done better.
Arsenal quickly responded, however, with Giroud heading from the corner. After the goal, the game became very scrappy with neither team providing much quality.
Following half-time, City quickly scored, with a powerful run from De Bruyne, while Arsenal continued to look nervous, but with the introduction of Theo Walcott, the game changed.
Sanchez scored Arsenal’s second after a great lay-off from Giroud. Arsenal then played for the draw and managed to secure a point from the game, and probably a top four finish.
With this considered, let’s have a look at how the players got on.
