Arsenal took on Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, looking to try and close the points gap on north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
It was a slow and subdued start from the Gunners, with Alan Pardew’s side set-up to sit behind the ball and wait for their chance to counter. A couple of early chances created by none other than Mesut Ozil went to waste and despite earning a free-kick in a dangerous area, Alexis Sanchez’s effort went just wide of the goal.
The first goal did come eventually however, with Danny Welbeck clipping the ball into Alexis’ path and the Chilean headed the ball into the back of the net with only the second effort from the home side on target – just on the cusp of half-time.
The second period was a pretty poor affair and Arsenal’s inability to kill the game off led to Palace getting their equaliser. Bolasie, with time and space came in from the left and struck beyond Petr Cech’s near post.
It was a pretty poor performance from the home side – a game that summed up the season they’re having.
