Scouts from Arsenal joined the likes of Manchester United and Bayern Munich in the stands at the weekend to watch highly-rated 18-year-old Renato Sanches, who was named as Benfica’s Man of the Match against Academica.
According to the Daily Mail, talks have been ongoing between Sanches’ party and United since January, with the player in question keen on a move to Old Trafford if a deal can be sorted this summer.
However, given his excellent performances in recent weeks, interest in the Benfica maestro has widened and clubs such as Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are now said to be interested in his services.

Sanches’ agent is a well-known face in Jorge Mendes, who represents a number of top footballers. The buyout clause for Sanches is rumoured to be close to the £60m mark.
The youngster’s contract at Benfica doesn’t run out until the Summer of 2021 but Manchester United have been firm in negotiations and are looking to get the deal done as quickly as possible – no matter what the price.
It’d take Arsenal a lot of persuading to tempt the youngster into joining the north London side instead of the Red Devils or Bayern Munich.
